Question about item

Catching a fish on a s e l f - t i e d fly makes the catch twice as good! Fly tying complements fly fishing in a creative way and is not even that difficult. An individual class at your desired date with 1 to 3 particpants is the best opportunity to learn fly tying or learn more about it, no matter if you are a beginner or already an advanced fly tyer.

As a beginner we will gladly provide you the class content and background to give you a solid base. In such a class you'll achieve the necessary know-how for fly tying, shown and taught step by step and logically built on each other. In addition, you will get an overview of the basically required tools and the tying materials most commonly used as well as what is important in their function and in their quality - so not explicitly otherwise requested focused on the tying of trout & grayling patterns. Two class days are recommended, but even after a one-day class you can already tie a variety of basic patterns in the categories dry fly, wet fly, nymph and streamer or tie them after "recipe".

For the advanced opens up a broad spectrum - starting with somewhat more difficult tying techniques such as proper tying in wings and tails, the tying of parachutes and extended or woven bodys, tying with dubbing loop to various special tying techniques with CDC feathers - when it comes to trout & grayling flies.

Or you choose a different topic - like the tying of catchy, sometimes multi-part (articulated) pike and taimen streamers or the tying of salmon and steelhead flies, also on tubes or the large range of saltwater flies from Crazy Charly, Deceiver or Popper to a shrimp.

Instructor Andy Pfirstinger has an immense know-how, not only in trout & grayling, but also in pike, taimen and carp fly patterns and in particular also in almost all kinds of saltwater flies used for bonefish, permit and tarpon up to sailfish.

Dates and class duration (one or more days) freely selectable over the whole year according to availability.

Note for online booking: You can specify in the field 'Desired date' on which day(s) or in which period you would like to take your private class. In another field you can tell us your focus (beginner/advanced, special tying techniques, fly patterns for trout or other fish species, etc.). We will contact you as soon as possible after booking which dates are possible or available.

Class content & focus: Freely selectable

Whether you want to acchieve a sound basis or want to learn tying specific flies or tying techniques, you can define it in a private fly tying class.

Class fee: The fee depends on your desired lesson duration and the number of participants attending the private class, see select options. If you book more than one day, you will receive a 10% discount on the course fee of the following day(s).
And in case we should organize a class for more than 3 participants or for longer than 2 days we'll make you an individual offer.

Class duration: instrucion time is approx. 6,5h per class day. With a lunch break, highly recommended to bring up concentration, the total duration is about 8h.

Class location: Here in our training room on site.

Our rates are valid for instruction here on site. Should you wish another class location, for example at your home, additional fees for travel, meals and accomodation if required do apply.
