For fly fishing, we almost exclusively use knotless, tapered monofilament leaders, which offers several advantages.

Classic, tapered standard leaders come in a length of 9 feet (2.75 m), are undyed, and have a high breaking strength and knot strength. The Mastery Trout Leaders, available from us in the most common strengths, meet all these requirements. The Mastery Trout Leaders are characterized by a strong butt section followed by an ideal down taper for perfect fly turnover. They can be lengthened or adjusted with almost any standard nylon tippet material and also feature a Perfection Loop at the beginning, allowing the leader to be connected to the fly line loop to loop. In short, this monofilament nylon leader fulfills all requirements immaculately.
