Here at Alpine Angler you can order original SIMMS cleats and studs individually and in the desired quantity for your Simms wading boots with vibram sole - either to replace lost studs or to optimally enforce your wading boots with studs.

The effect of spikes on slippery surfaces is obvious, as they ensure significantly better grip and stability under difficult wading situations.

But because studs are not equal studs and the bottom can be very different on and in rivers - just think of boulders, mud, sand, gravel and rocks as well as algae cover and underwater plants - SIMMS offers three different spike types with different characteristics, all suiting every Simms Wading Boot model with Vibram/Rubber outsole.

Going fishing a lot, we have learned that a mixture of all 3 stud/cleat variants on the vibram sole of a wading boot achieves the best possible foothold in terms of all around grip. For this reason, we offer you the studs individually, so you can optimally equip your wading boots without having to buy the 10 or 20 pc. packs where you end up with studs left over. In addition, you buy the original SIMMS studs from us at the same price per piece as they cost in the pack.

You can choose between the Simms HardBite Studs and the HardBite Star Cleats, each made of steel, and the AlumiBite Star Cleats made of aluminum. The latter are corrosion-free and softer than carbide, providing excellent grip on micro-surfaces such as on rocks.

Our recommendation: Equip the vibram soles of your Simms wading shoes mixed with both the star-shaped HardBite Star Cleats and the AlumBite Star Cleats and add some HardBite Studs, for example like shown on the pictures with mounted spikes.
The Vibram soles of SIMMS wading boots now almost all show markings where star shaped cleats and where studs should be mounted. So you can easily determine the required amount of the distinct spikes and where to mount them later, just look at the sole of your wading boots.
