Fly Lines

If the line is to match the rod and your type of fishing!

Choosing the right fly line is no easy task, as there are countless variations, head lengths, and tapers. A high-quality line is more durable and performs better, but that's not the real challenge. The much more difficult part is determining whether the fly line is a good match for the rod being used and what characteristics it should possess. Should the line land delicately for fine presentations, or carry weighted flies or streamers even in windy conditions? Do I need it for long and accurate casts, or rather short ones? Or are good roll casting characteristics the primary requirement? Am I fishing in cold or warm water? Should the line float, sink slowly or quickly, and so on? All of these factors and more need to be considered, and while optimized fly lines and tapers exist for all of these aspects, the perfect all-rounder simply doesn't exist.

We at Alpine Angler have been fishing for a long time, all over the world, targeting various fish species, and therefore know the lines we offer inside and out. We'd be happy to help you choose the right fly line for your rod and your fishing spot - just get in touch.
